Tectonometamorphism through Earth HistoryRegional tectonometamorphism (deformation and metamorphism) is a first order manifestation of our planet's convection mode, whether it is a stagnant rigid lid, a transitional regime or the modern global plate tectonics.
Metamorphic rocks have the potential to record thermal gradients, burial and exhumation rates, and lithospheric stifness that should be considered as proxies in deciphering the evolution of tectonic regimes through time. Metamorphic rocks should be systematically investigated by field-based multi-diciplinary integrated approaches. |
